QUESTION: What is an encryption password?

ANSWER:

The encryption password ensures that only a user that knows that password can alter a file's encryption status. By default, the user can create a custom encryption password and a password hint for each encrypted file (or group of files). Once applied, this password is required to alter the file's encryption status. Do not forget the encryption password. A lost password cannot be recovered.

If you have chosen to lock your encryption tab (with the system password), then you may choose to use this password as default password for encryption activity. This means you will not have to enter it repeatedly, since you've already entered it for getting into the encryption tab.

Note that files encrypted with a system password will remain encrypted with that system password. — Even if the system password is changed. Therefore, if attempting to decrypt a file that has been encrypted with an earlier version of the system password, the user will be prompted to enter the old system password (with the old system password hint provided).
